Michelle S. McCollum, entered basic training and began her military career in July 1996, serving as a 42A4P2S-Human Resource Specialist. Stationed throughout various locations along the East Coast of the United States, ending her career in October 2008, with an honorable discharge. Various medals and awards which include two overseas combat tours in support of Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. Her favorite duty station was Fort Bragg, North Carolina, 82nd Airborne, where she spent close to 3 years on active jump status. While on active duty, McCollum earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Upon separation, McCollum has worked various job, each involved in Human Resources duties. McCollum has two daughters, Hannah age 17 and Liliana age 8. McCollum is married to a military veteran of 21 years, Alan, who is currently employed with the City of Corpus Christi, Police Department. McCollum volunteers her free time with the homeless, with the police department, with her church, constantly involved in local and community outreach programs. McCollum began another journey in her life by becoming a small business owner in April 2017. LaLa’s Crepes, LLC was founded by McCollum and is a thriving local food truck in Corpus Christi. McCollum considers this journey one that she is becoming well-known around her home town with the unique flavors of her home-made crepes. McCollum credits her successes and blessings to God and the continuous support of her family.
