Film Commissioner, City of San Antonio
Krystal Jones leads all San Antonio Film Commission activities and City led music programs to further develop and promote the local film and music industry. In her role, Krystal manages permitting for film projects on City owned properties, a 7.5% local film incentive, Film Commission workshops and panels, all marketing and public relations activities for the Film Commission, a Local Filmmaker Grant, film contests, databases for film locations, film resources, musicians, music businesses and resources, and the processes for becoming a Texas Music Office Music Friendly Community.
Previous to her film and music position, Krystal spent 10 years in marketing and public relations roles in both the private and public sectors and has received awards for her work. She has worked with “American Ninja Warrior,” “The Bachelorette,” and multiple shows for networks including The Travel Channel, NBC, CNN, and PBS. Krystal earned her masters from Syracuse University and her bachelors from Heidelberg University.
